Identify and verify materials, dimensions, and material specifications before fabrication.

Mark, measure, cut, bevel, and prepare steel plates and structural sections.

Shape, bend, and form metal components according to the required profiles and dimensions.

Fabricate and assemble hull structures, frames, bulkheads, decks, stiffeners, brackets, and supports.

Fit and align components using suitable tools, fixtures, clamps, and measuring instruments.

Prepare joints and edges for welding and perform tack welding when qualified and authorized.

Check dimensions, alignment, squareness, gaps, and tolerances against approved drawings.

Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and report defective or damaged equipment.

Coordinate with welders, platers, hull fitters, supervisors, and quality inspectors to ensure smooth workflow.

Identify material defects, fabrication discrepancies, and dimensional deviations and report them promptly.

Follow approved welding and fabrication procedures and quality inspection requirements.

Maintain traceability and identification of materials and fabricated components as required.

Follow permit-to-work requirements, hot-work precautions, PPE requirements, and shipyard safety procedures.

Maintain good housekeeping and ensure tools and equipment are stored properly.
